Jimerson's 18 lead Saint Louis past Evansville 83-65
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Gibson Jimerson scored 18 points as Saint Louis beat Evansville 83-65 on Saturday night.
Jimerson had five rebounds for the Billikens (2-0). Francis Okoro scored 16 points while finishing 8 of 10 from the floor, and added 12 rebounds. Javonte Perkins shot 4 for 10, including 3 for 4 from beyond the arc to finish with 13 points.
The Purple Aces (1-1) were led in scoring by Yacine Toumi, who finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Antoine Smith Jr. added 11 points for Evansville. Preston Phillips also had nine points.
Okoro scored 10 points in the first half and Saint Louis went into the break trailing 39-37. Jimerson led Saint Louis with 12 points in the second half as his team outscored Evansville by 20 points over the final half.
NEXT UP
Saint Louis’ next game is Tuesday against Memphis at home, and Evansville hosts Southeast Missouri State on Wednesday.
