Hawkins' 22 lead SFA past Tarleton State 65-60
NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) — Nigel Hawkins' 22 points helped Stephen F. Austin defeat Tarleton State 65-60 on Wednesday night.
Hawkins was 8 of 14 shooting, including 1 for 5 from distance, and went 5 for 6 from the line for the Lumberjacks (17-9, 9-4 Western Athletic Conference). Latrell Jossell shot 5 for 9 (4 for 4 from 3-point range) and 2 of 4 from the free-throw line to add 16 points. Roti Ware was 3 of 8 shooting, including 1 for 4 from distance, and went 4 for 5 from the line to finish with 11 points.
Lue Williams finished with 12 points for the Texans (14-13, 7-7). Jakorie Smith added 11 points and two steals for Tarleton State. Shamir Bogues also recorded 10 points.
