2025 Super Bowl LIX odds: All is quiet as league awaits schedule release

Updated May. 10, 2024 1:14 p.m. ET

Immediately following the Kansas City Chiefs' thrilling overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, both teams opened atop the betting board as the favorites to win it all next season.

And three months after the big game, they remain the favorites.

The free agency period and NFL Draft moved the odds for a few teams, but now that those are in the past, there is one more rite of football spring passage to come, next season's schedule reveal.

The league has not confirmed the official release date, but Sports Business Journal's Ben Fischer has reported that teams were informed May 15 will be the day.

Of course, teams already know who they are going to play next season, but the scheduling of games can have a huge impact on the odds.

An early rough stretch might not be as important as a late one, and bettors are always looking for these arbitrage opportunities in futures markets.

So, without further ado, let's check out a list of the Super Bowl odds before the big reveal, along with insight from FOX Sports NFL analysts Carmen Vitali and David Helman on movements after the draft.

Are the Bears instant contenders with Caleb and Odunze?

FOX Sports NFC North Reporter Carmen Vitali gave the Bears an A- in her draft grades.

"The Bears had as good of a draft as they could possibly hope for. They got their quarterback of the future in Caleb Williams and a potential star receiver in Rome Odunze, instantly making him one of, if not the best, No. 3 WR in the league. Chicago's offense now boasts Odunze with veterans DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, as well as D'Andre Swift, Cole Kmet, Gerald Everett and Williams at the helm."

Atlanta is another team whose odds moved in a favorable direction after Day 1 of the NFL Draft, moving from +3000 to +2400.

The Falcons added to their quarterback room, selecting Michael Penix Jr. with the No. 8 pick. Just last month, they signed four-time Pro Bowler Kirk Cousins.

Did the Atlanta Falcons make a mistake drafting Michael Penix Jr.?

On Thursday's episode of the NFL on FOX Podcast, FOX Sports NFL analyst Dave Helman said that, "in a vacuum," he understands the Penix pick.

"If you're comfortable with the medicals, you probably think this guy's great," Helman acknowledged. "The issue comes in the fact that the Atlanta Falcons gave Kirk Cousins $180 million two months ago!?"

FOX Sports NFC North reporter Carmen Vitali also chimed in on the Falcons' draft-night moves.

"Listen, the Atlanta Falcons are not the Green Bay Packers," she noted. "You can't get away in today's modern NFL by wasting a quarterback's rookie contract … team building doesn't work like that."

A team whose Super Bowl futures got slightly longer is Dallas, as the Cowboys moved to +1500 from +1300 after the first night of the draft.

Super Bowl LIX will be played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Feb. 9, 2025, and will be broadcast on FOX and the FOX Sports app.
