Impact This was a weird fight between two guys that trained with each other for quite a bit, but there's definitely a case to be made that Resse, fighting in his native Texas, deserved the decision. He was clearly the better conditioned of the two men, although that was a low bar to begin with. Reese starting slowly despite eventually landing more significant strikes than Pereira in all three rounds. The visuals definitely appeared to favor Reese late, but two of the three judges went in the other direction. The 31-year-old is 2-1 (1NC) in his last four fights dating back to May 2025 so his roster spot is plenty secure despite the bad break this evening.

Pereira up next Reese will fight Michel Pereira at UFC Houston on Feb. 21, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact Reese will have three inches of height and four inches of reach over Pereira, and finishing 2025 with a 2-1 record also gives Reese a momentum advantage over his opponent, who has lost each of his last three fights.

Scores late-notice victory Reese defeated Jackson McVey via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:38 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Impact Reese accepted this fight just a few days ago following the withdrawal of Robert Valentin. He looked rusty early on, struggling with the constant pressure and physicality of McVey. He eventually got a reprieve after an accidental low blow gave him a few minutes to recover and from there he leaned on his grappling for success. All told, Reese landed all three of his takedown attempts in addition to the rear-naked choke which closed the show. Reese will be 32 years old next March and has been inconsistent during his time with the UFC (4-2, 1NC), but he has definite value for a company which holds an event most every Saturday.

Steps in on short notice Reese will take on Jackson McVey in a middleweight bout at UFC 111 on Nov. 8, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact Reese steps in on extremely short notice to take on McVey, who needed a new opponent after Robert Valentin backed out of the fight for undisclosed reasons. Reese will be looking to bounce back after he accidentally landed a low blow on Sedriques Dumas in his last bout, forcing a no contest. He currently sits at 3-2 in the UFC.

Accidental foul leads to no contest Reese and Sedriques Dumas fought to a no contest (accidental foul) at 0:51 of Round 1 at UFC Noche on Saturday in San Antonio.

Impact Reese is going to be kicking himself after this one. Entering as a -250 favorite in a fight he had a great chance of winning, he clipped Dumas with a low blow about a minute into the fight and the latter was immediately writhing in pain and eventually unable to continue. Reese should be crossing his fingers the UFC tries to re-book this matchup as soon as Dumas is physically able.

Impact After getting back in the win column versus Dusko Todorovic back in May, Reese will have the chance to win back-to-back matches as he travels to San Antonio. The 6-foot-4 middleweight is now 3-2 in the UFC, and he'll try to stay above .500 against Dumas, who's yet to win an octagon appearance in 2025.

Impact It was an underwhelming performance from Reese as a -225 favorite, although he walked away with the win he came for. Todorovic landed three takedowns and racked up 3:01 worth of control time in the opening frame alone. Reese's defensive wrestling was much better the rest of the way, as he stuffed 8-of-9 tries over the final 10 minutes. That allowed him to remain upright and easily win the striking exchanges between the two men. Reese has won three of five fights since officially joining the UFC roster back in December 2023 and seems likely to hover around the .500 mark moving forward.
