Impact Lins came into the bout with a coherent game plan, sniping Francis when he could and forcing the clinch to ensure he wasn't on the end of big shots. There was only so much navigating to be done, however, as Lins was hurt badly for the final time when he decided to exchange at range. While he deserves credit for taking the opportunity, Lins came into this bout nearly 40 pounds lighter than his opponent, which makes one wonder how he expected to stand up to punishment from the lineal UFC heavyweight champion. "Monstro" was one of the rare fighters to be cut from that promotion on a win and had tallied four consecutive victories before the result here. He fell to 18-6-0 in professional MMA due to the loss.
