Will face Doo Ho Choi Freire will face Doo Ho Choi in a featherweight bout at UFC 331 on Sep. 19, Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports reports.

Impact Freire has been very inconsistent of late, going 1-2 in his first three UFC bouts while coming off a disappointing loss against Aaron Pico via unanimous decision on April 11. The 38-year-old veteran might not have a lot left in the tank, and another loss here would complicate his chances of staying in the promotion.

Inconsistent ways continue Freire lost to Aaron Pico via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC 327 on Saturday in Miami.

Impact Freire was competitive here for about a round. After that, his movements slowed and he looked like the guy that was nearly a decade older than his opponent. Pitbull got off second in virtually all the stand-up exchanges between the two. He absorbed so many big blows that he was lucky to see the final bell. Freire showed in his last fight against Dan Ige that he still has some gas left in the tank if you match him up properly, but at age 38, he's going to struggle against young, elite athletes such as Pico. The former multi-time Bellator champion has alternated losses and wins in his first three UFC fights.

Impact Freire lost his UFC debut against Yair Rodriguez last April but bounced back with a win over Dan Ige during his most recent bout. The 38-year-old featherweight will now have a chance to get above .500 by defeating an opponent who dropped his own debut back in August.

Impact Freire was supposed to fight Losene Keita on Saturday, but the latter missed weight, weighing in at 149 pounds. Pitbull himself says that his focus has shifted to UFC Rio on Oct. 11, calling for a challenger that can make weight for the event in barely over a month's notice.

Picks up first UFC victory Freire defeated Dan Ige via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC 318 on Saturday in New Orleans.

Impact Pitbull looked awful on all fronts in his much-anticipated UFC debut against Yair Rodriguez in April, but the fighter we saw this evening looked much more like the guy that was arguably the greatest performer in the history of the Bellator promotion. Pitbull made a constant point to attempt to wrestle Ige, and for the most part, it worked. He landed 5-of-9 takedown attempts, and while it led to little ground control time (2:44), the shots served to keep Ige off balance. Pitbull landed one huge strike in Round 2, while Ige returned fire with a similar blow in Round 3. The Brazilian would be better served to fire off more volume on the feet on a consistent basis, but as Daniel Cormier correctly pointed out on the broadcast, Pitbull's output increases when he has his opponent hurt. The 38-year-old should be able to work his way into at least a handful more notable fights during his UFC run.

It's hard to believe a 37-year-old who is closing in on 50 professional fights could be overwhelmed by the moment, but the Brazilian was unable to get out of first gear. He was never able to consistently close the distance between the two, which was a disaster considering Rodriguez's five-inch reach edge. Pitbull appeared to be making some minor headway early in Round 3, only to get dropped and nearly finished. There are plenty of reasons to believe Pitbull has some gas left in the tank, but his best days are almost certainly behind him and matching him up against legitimate top-five featherweights like Rodriguez is a recipe for disaster.
