Impact Just like that, Mix's UFC run appears likely to be over before it even started. After no-showing his company debut against Mario Bautista in June, Patchy looked better here. In fact, there's most definitely a case to be made that he deserved the win. He struggled in Round 1 before finding his range. Round 2 was tight, while Mix pulled away in Round 3. He was credited with five takedowns and 7:41 worth of control time, but it ended up not being enough in the eyes of two of the three judges. Of course, the fact Patchy was in a dog fight as a -350 favorite against a newcomer isn't a great sign. Mix entered the UFC riding a seven-fight winning streak from his Bellator days.

Impact Mix will head into the bout looking to bounce back off his defeat at the hands of Mario Bautista in his UFC debut in June. The 31-year-old American will have to overcome a slight reach disadvantage in comparison to the younger Polish fighter. With a combined professional record of 23-1 in submission finishes, expect these two fighters to utilize the ground game heavily in this one.

No-shows hyped UFC debut Mix lost to Mario Bautista via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 27-30) at UFC 316 on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey.

Impact Bautista is a very good opponent and that must be taken into consideration, but to say Mix's UFC debut was a disaster would be an understatement. Known throughout his storied Bellator career as a high-level grappler, Mix attempted one half-hearted takedown over the course of 15 minutes here. Instead, he attempted to go blow-for-blow with Bautista on the feet and primarily served as a punching bag, not moving his feet or head and constantly getting off second in all the striking exchanges between the two. It was such a lousy effort it makes you wonder if Mix was dealing with some sort of injury or illness. The defeat snaps a seven-fight winning streak for Mix and is his first setback since September 2020.
