Losing streak hits three Elliott lost to Michael Oliveira via TKO (punches) at 1:49 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Belgrade, Serbia.

Impact This was a really tough spot for Elliott. A native of Wales, he was forced to fly to Serbia to take on a guy that appears to be on the verge becoming a star. Oban's durability isn't the greatest to begin with and here he had to go against a guy with next-level stopping power. It's by no means a surprise this was the end result. Elliott's three-fight winning streak to begin his UFC run feels like a complete mirage at this point. He's lost three straight since and could be looking at a release.

Undefeated opponent next Elliott will take on Michael Oliveira in a welterweight fight at UFC Belgrade on Aug. 1, according to Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports.

Impact Despite a crushing loss at Sydney in his last fight, Elliott will take on an undefeated contender for his next bout. Even with the loss, he has a 4-1 UFC record, so it may be a little early to say that his aforementioned defeat will define what is to come from the Welsh welterweight.

Crushing defeat in Sydney Elliott lost to Jonathan Micallef via technical submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:21 of Round 2 at UFC 325 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.

Impact Elliott needed a strong performance following his unanimous decision loss to Seok Hyun Ko as a -500 favorite last June. He was the more effective fighter for most of this bout, using his speed and aggressiveness to keep Micallef off balance, but he allowed one takedown midway through Round 2 and was never able to recover. Micallef easily transitioned to the rear-naked choke and Oban went to sleep as opposed to tapping out. The 28-year-old will probably get another opportunity with the UFC given the fact he won his first three fights with the company, but he's likely one more setback away from getting cut.

Booked again against Micallef Elliott (illness) will take on Jonathan Micallef in a welterweight matchup at UFC 325 on Jan. 31, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact The two were set to throw down at UFC Perth back in September, but Elliott was forced to withdraw due to illness. Now, the Welsh Ganger will get a chance to bounce back from his first ever UFC loss back in June. He'll give up five inches in reach to Micallef, who also has the edge in volume striking (albeit over a two-fight sample size).

Impact Elliott was looking to rebound from a loss in his last bout, but he'll need to wait a bit longer to return to the Octagon after coming down with an illness.

Impact Elliott entering as a -500 favorite is certainly going to be in the running for worst line of the year when all is said and done. He gave up six takedowns and 10:15 worth of control time to Ko, an opponent known for his striking as opposed to his grappling game. Elliott landed just 10 significant strikes in 15 minutes and failed on both of his takedown attempts. It was a truly abysmal performance from start to finish. Oban had built up some good will after winning each of his first three UFC bouts, but much of that is gone following this effort.

New opponent and date Elliott is scheduled to compete against Seok Hyun Ko in a welterweight fight at UFC Baku on June 21, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact At UFC Vegas 107, Elliott and Ko were scheduled to fight Ramiz Brahimaj and Billy Goff respectively. However, both members of the former duo had to withdraw. It seems they are good to go a month down the line, as the UFC ultimately decided to pencil both Elliott and Ko against each other for Azerbaijan. Elliott's new opponent is a promotion newcomer.
