Impact 2025 was another year of inconsistency for Schnell, who went 1-1 with a decision win over Jimmy Flick and a submission loss to Joseph Morales. For his next fight, Schnell takes on a recent UFC debutant who stopped Kevin Borjas about a month prior in Mexico City.

Inconsistent ways continue Schnell lost to Joseph Morales via submission (guillotine choke) at 2:54 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Impact It's hard to blame Schnell for getting routed in a fight in which he entered as a +350 underdog, but if he was hoping to put forth a competent performance in hopes of keeping his roster spot, it simply didn't happen. In fact, Schnell made a foolish mistake on the mat you typically don't see from such experienced veterans, essentially rolling into the guillotine choke from Morales which put him away. Set to turn 36 years of age in January and the loser of four of his last five, all via stoppage, there simply isn't much upside to the UFC running Schnell back out there.

Impact When was last saw Schnell in September, he was retiring following a second-round submission loss to Cody Durden. He decided to take one more crack at it and managed to edge Flick here in what was a back-and-forth war. Schnell was stuck in mud most of the first two rounds. He was grounded by Flick and unable to get any offense going. Yet as we have seen countless times in the past, Jimmy gassed out, and Schnell simply kept going, outworking his opponent late in earning the decision win. Despite the victory, Schnell is 35 years old, entered having lost three straight, and has already retired once. His career could best be described as "fight-by-fight" at this point.
