Crushing main event defeat Gamrot lost to Charles Oliveira via submission (face crank) at 2:48 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Impact It continues to be a case of one step forward, two steps back for Gamrot. To be fair, he accepted this fight on short notice after Rafael Fiziev was forced to withdraw and it wasn't a great matchup for him from a stylistic standpoint. Gamrot's grappling-heavy attacked played right into Oliveira's elite submission game. He landed an easy single-leg takedown in Round 1 and ended up getting controlled by Charles for nearly three minutes of the frame. It was Oliveira that landed the takedown in Round 2 before working towards the submission. Gamrot will be 35 years old in December and has alternated losses and wins in his last four fights dating back to March 2024. He's essentially out of time in terms of impacting the title picture in a loaded lightweight division.
