Impact 13 years younger than his opponent, Bahamondes won this fight by simply outworking Salikhov on the feet. He wasn't necessarily more effective, but he was more active and that led to a fairly easy decision win. Bahamondes attempted 175 total strikes compared to just 102 from his opponent. He did give up three takedowns to Salikhov but was able to limit the latter's control time to just 1:16. It was a much-needed win for Bahamondes on the heels of back-to-back unanimous decision defeats to Tofiq Musayev and Rafael Fiziev.
