Impact From strictly a numbers standpoint, Abdelwahab was a dominant as could be in this fight. He closed with a 170-28 edge in total strikes landed, connected on 9-of-14 takedown attempts, and racked up 10:48 worth of control time. That's the good news. The bad news is that he was (correctly) docked a point by referee Marc Goddard in Round 1 for repeated blows to the back of the head, combined with the fact he was unable to get Barnett -- who really appeared to have zero interest in fighting this evening -- out of there. Hamdy is a decent wrestler for a heavyweight, but he doesn't really appear to be improving much despite sporting a 2-1 (1NC) record in his first four UFC bouts.
