Survives flurry for huge victory McConico defeated Rodolfo Vieira via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Impact He didn't do it on purpose, but McConico ended up employing a brilliant game plan. The four takedowns and one knockdown he survived in Round 1 served to completely gas Vieira out in the process. McConico wasn't a picture of excess energy himself, but he remained upright the rest of the way and that was enough to allow him to land a few big strikes and steal two rounds on the scorecards. McConico will be 36 years old in a few weeks. He's 2-2 in his first four UFC fights, a perfectly reasonably mark considering how little helium the Oregon native had upon his February 2025 company debut.

Knocked out as huge underdog McConico lost to Baisangur Susurkaev via KO (punch) at 1:38 of Round 3 at UFC 322 on Saturday in New York City.

Impact All things considered, McConico was by no means totally outgunned here despite entering as north of a +700 underdog, largest on the entire card. He did some good work in tight, although appeared hesitant to truly let his hands go given the power of his opponent. McConico was finally put away early in Round 3 after getting cracked with a right-hand which sent him sprawling to the mat face-down. The 35-year-old Oregon native has alternated losses and wins in his first three UFC fights.

Next fight scheduled McConico is set to fight Baysangur Susurkaev at UFC 322 on Nov. 15, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact The 35-year-old will return to the Octagon after defeating Cody Brundage via split decision at UFC Vegas 109 on Aug. 9. McConico holds a professional record of 10-3-1, and he has won four of his last five bouts dating back to November 2023.

Picks up first UFC win McConico defeated Cody Brundage via split decision (29-28, 27-30, 29-28) at UFC Vegas 109 on Saturday.

Impact This was an airtight matchup with scorecards all over the place from both the judges and media members. McConico ceded both the striking and wrestling/control numbers to Brundage in Rounds 1 and 2, but he had a big moment early in the fight that may have stolen him the frame and could have very well made the difference. He was also the fresher fighter in Round 3, a testament to his cardio, which allowed him to even up the striking numbers and leave a good final impression. This was a much-needed bounce-back effort after a lopsided debut loss to Nursulton Ruziboev in February. Look for McConico to return to the middleweight division after this.

Impact McConico, who lost his UFC debut in February in an uninspiring performance, will have a chance to bounce back with this short notice bout with Brundage. Brundage is 0-1-1 in his two fights this year. The two fighters are the same height but McConico holds a three-inch reach advantage.
