Impact Known for his durability and super aggressive style, Gustafsson did what he always does and began pushing the pace the second the opening bell rang. He didn't appear to get clipped with any one single notable blow, but Fakhretdinov was able to eventually unload with an onslaught of punches along the fence and Gustafsson crumbled. The Swede's ridiculous pace is always going to be an issue for opponents the longer his fights go, but Gustafsson is already 34 years of age and admittedly about the least technical fighter you will ever see. Andreas is the least technical fighter you will ever see, as he openly admits, but boy is he tough and aggressive. He simply continued to push forward in an attempt to break Khaos' will. It's fair to wonder how this strategy will work over the long term, especially when you combine it with the fact Gustafsson is already 34 years old, but it was plenty effective this evening.

Impact Gustafsson had his three previous UFC bouts cancelled, preventing him from making his debut with the promotion. Finally, however, the cards fell his way, as his opponent Williams needed a new fighter on extremely short notice and Gustafsson was more than happy to step in. Williams is significantly more experienced, as he boasts a 6-3 UFC record.

Now presumably healthy, Gustafsson will take on a fighter in Wells who is 4-2 under the UFC banner but coming off back-to-back losses. Gustafsson stands four inches taller, but the two have nearly identical reach. Staying upright will be key for Gustafsson, as Wells averages over three takedowns per 15 minutes of fight time in the UFC.
