Impact This was a very tough ask for Albazi. He had been on the sidelines since November 2024, with a scheduled fight against Tatsuro Taira last August cancelled due to injury. He returned here against a guy in Horiguchi that has a legit claim for the next title shot at 125 pounds. Albazi's only truly competitive round was the first and even then it was only cause he landed one huge punch. Overall, he was credited with just 16 significant strikes landed in addition to failing on all seven of his takedown attempts. It's hard to win with those kind of numbers. The 32-year-old is an easy top-10 fighter at flyweight, but there's a gap between he and the best in the division. We're going on three years (June 2023) since Albazi's last victory.
