Picks up first UFC victory Idiris defeated Ode Osbourne via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Houston.

Impact It was a massive rebound performance for Idiris after his no-show effort against Joseph Morales in his UFC debut last August. He still wasn't particularly active on the feet, landing just 30 significant strikes compared to 32 from Osbourne, but Idiris fired off a whopping 15 takedown attempts, landing five for 6:10 worth of control time. That was more than enough to win a decision this evening. The long-term ceiling of the 31-year-old remains in question, but this win should ensure his roster spot is safe for the time being.

Draws Osbourne in Houston Idiris will take on Ode Osbourne in a flyweight matchup at UFC Houston on Feb. 21, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact Idiris entered the UFC with an undefeated record last August but lost via submission to Joseph Morales, resulting in his first pro loss. The UFC matchmakers aren't doing him any favors with his follow-up effort, as Osbourne is a veteran who has fought many of the best flyweights in the division (even if he has lost four of his last five). Osbourne will enter with a massive five-inch reach advantage.

Lights too bright in debut Idiris lost to Joseph Morales via submission (triangle choke) at 3:04 of Round 2 at UFC 319 on Saturday in Chicago, Illinois.

Impact The betting odds predicted that the undefeated fighter would walk through his veteran counterpart, but Idiris seemed out of sorts from the opening bell, resorting to desperation spinning attacks to combat Morales' pressure. Idiris is a fast, powerful striker, but never got his offense going in the short-notice appearance. The loss doesn't look great for the Kazakh fighter, but he likely will have more to show in his next trip to the Octagon. The 30-year-old falls to 10-1 in professional MMA with the loss.

To compete in TUF Final at UFC 319 Idiris will take on Joseph Morales in TUF Flyweight Final at UFC 319 on Saturday.

Impact Idiris, a representative of Team Cormier, punched his ticket to the final with a highlight-reel finish over Roybert Echeverria in the semis, as a flying knee rocked his opponent and only a few follow-up shots were necessary. HIs opponent was less decisive, as Morales barely advanced, edging out a split decision. Morales has the advantage of having UFC experience, going 11-2 with the company in brief stint from 2017 to 2018. Idiris has the momentum, however, as the Kazakhstan-based prospect is a perfect 10-0 as a pro, most recently competing under the bannter of Naiza FC.
