Secures early win in Paris Anisimova won 6-3, 4-1 when Nina Stojanovic retired in the first round of the French Open on Sunday.
Impact Anisimova got off to a good start to the year's second major as she had built a lead when her opponent retired after one hour and 11 minutes on court. The semifinal showing that the 23-year-old American posted in Paris in 2019 remains her best result at any Grand Slam tournament.
