Charlee Soto - Working way back from wrist sprain The Twins announced Wednesday that Soto, who is recovering from a wrist ligament sprain, began playing catch out to 105 feet earlier this month and could resume throwing off a moun...
Impact Soto closed the 2025 season on Cedar Rapids' IL after requiring surgery in August to remove a partially detached bone spur from his right elbow, but he appears to have made a full recovery from that procedure. Instead, it's the wrist issue that has thus far kept him out of action to begin the 2026 season. Though he could be closing in on mound work, Soto still appears to be a few weeks away from making his season debut for Cedar Rapids.

Emmanuel Rodriguez - Not yet swinging bat The Twins announced Saturday that Rodriguez is still experiencing some discomfort in his strained left thumb and has yet to resume swinging a bat,
Impact Rodriguez had slashed .247/.417/.506 with six home runs and three stolen bases over 25 games for Triple-A St. Paul to begin the season before suffering the thumb injury May 1 on a headfirst slide into first base. The Twins won't clear him to swing the bat until he's free of symptoms of the thumb injury, so Rodriguez would still appear to be at the week-to-week stage of his recovery process.

Walker Jenkins - Nearing baseball activity Twins manager Jeremy Zoll said Saturday that Jenkins (shoulder) is "reporting improvements daily" and could begin light baseball activity in about a week, Bobby Nightengale of The...
Impact Jenkins slashed .256/.396/.389 with two home runs, five stolen bases and a 17.4 percent walk rate over 111 plate appearances at Triple-A St. Paul to begin the season before sustaining a Grade 2 AC joint sprain in his left shoulder May 3. Though the young outfielder seems to be making good progress in his recovery, Zoll said that Jenkins is about a month away from returning to game action. If Jenkins can return to action for St. Paul by late June, he should still have a chance at making his MLB debut at some point in the second half of the season.

Alan Roden - Hoping to start throwing this week Roden (shoulder) has resumed taking light swings and is hopeful to begin a throwing program Monday, MLB.com reports.
Impact After failing to win a spot on the Twins' Opening Day roster, Roden was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul coming out of spring training. He was making a case for a call-up after slashing .275/.425/.464 with three home runs and two steals in 19 games at St. Paul, but the left-handed hitter was shut down in late April and placed on the 7-day injured list after suffering a torn labrum in his right (throwing) shoulder. Roden is expected to require a three-week buildup with his throwing program before beginning a rehab assignment in the lower levels of the minors, so he would appear unlikely to rejoin the St. Paul lineup until around the middle of June.
30 MINS AGO • ROTOWIRE
David Festa - Likely out through All-Star break Twins general manager Jeremy Zoll said Saturday that Festa is unlikely to return before the All-Star break after experiencing a setback in his recovery from a right shoulder imping...
Impact Shoulder problems kept Festa on the shelf for most of the second half of the 2025 campaign, and though he appeared to be close to 100 percent healthy for the start of spring training, he ended up being shut down in late February after being diagnosed with the impingement. He was able to start throwing in late March, only to be shut down again when he felt renewed soreness in his shoulder after facing hitters in a simulated game at the Twins' spring training facility in Florida. Festa underwent a stem-cell injection in his shoulder May 8 and will be on a no-throw program through at least the end of the month before he begins ramping up again.

Cole Sands - Starts up throwing program Twins general manager Jeremy Zoll said that Sands (forearm) played catch on consecutive days last week and is expected to spend about a month on the injured list, Bobby Nightengale...
Impact Minnesota placed Sands on the IL on May 2 due to a right forearm strain, so the Twins appear to be viewing early June as a rough target date for the 28-year-old reliever's return. Before landing on the shelf, Sands had collected one win, one save and three holds while posting a 4.63 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 11:4 K:BB in 11.2 innings across 12 appearances.

Mick Abel - Playing catch again Abel (elbow/triceps) resumed playing light catch Wednesday, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Impact Initially placed on the 15-day injured list April 20 due to right elbow inflammation, Abel hit a snag in his recovery earlier this month, when he experienced soreness in his right triceps following a bullpen session. Abel appears to have responded well after receiving a cortisone injection to address the triceps issue, but he could be built up more slowly in his throwing program following the recent setback. The right-hander will gradually increase his throwing distance off flat ground before advancing to throwing off a mound and then facing hitters.
1 HOUR AGO • ROTOWIRE
Cody Laweryson - Kicks off rehab assignment Laweryson (forearm) worked around a walk to deliver a scoreless inning in his rehab appearance Saturday with Triple-A St. Paul.
Impact Laweryson is working his way back from a right forearm strain, which sent him to the 15-day injured list back on April 11. Since he's been shelved for five weeks with the injury, Laweryson may need at least a couple more tune-up appearances in the minors before slotting back into the Minnesota bullpen.
1 HOUR AGO • ROTOWIRE
Kendry Rojas - Making first MLB start Monday Rojas is slated to start Monday's game against the Astros at Target Field, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Impact The Twins will slot Rojas into the rotation spot that belonged to Simeon Woods Richardson, who may have been moved to the bullpen after logging a 7.71 ERA and 1.86 WHIP over his first nine starts of the season. Rojas has worked as a starter for most of his minor-league career but made all but one of his five appearances for Triple-A St. Paul out of the bullpen before being called back up to the majors earlier this month. Since Rojas hasn't covered more than 3.1 innings in an appearance at any level this season and will be pitching Monday on three days' rest, he likely won't be asked to cover the five innings he would need to hit to qualify for a win. Minnesota could end up turning to Woods Richardson for multiple innings out of the bullpen once Rojas exits the game.
1 HOUR AGO • ROTOWIRE
Simeon Woods Richardson - Could work out of bullpen Monday Woods Richardson is expected to be available in relief for Monday's game against the Astros while Kendry Rojas makes his first MLB start, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tr...
Impact While Twins manager Derek Shelton hasn't provided word on what exactly Woods Richardson's role will look like moving forward, the right-hander may have lost his spot in the rotation after going 0-6 with a 7.71 ERA and 1.86 WHIP in 42 innings through his first nine starts of the season. Monday would have been Woods Richardson's turn in the rotation, but the Twins will instead give Rojas a look in a starting role. Since Rojas will be pitching on three days' rest and hasn't covered more than 3.1 innings between his nine appearances in the big leagues and minors this season, he'll likely be in line for a limited workload in his start. As such, Woods Richardson could be needed to eat some innings out of the bullpen.
1 HOUR AGO • ROTOWIRE
Taj Bradley - Makes brief rehab start Sunday Bradley (pectoral) struck out three and allowed one earned run on two hits and two walks across 1.2 innings in a rehab start Sunday for Triple-A St. Paul.
Impact Placed on the 15-day injured list May 9 due to right pectoral inflammation, Bradley looks to be trending toward an abbreviated stint on the shelf. The Twins haven't announced Bradley's next steps, but since he tossed just 42 pitches in Sunday's outing, he'll presumably require at least one more rehab start before being activated. Prior to being shut down, Bradley went 4-1 with a 2.87 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 52:17 K:BB over 47 innings across eight starts with Minnesota.
1 HOUR AGO • ROTOWIRE
Byron Buxton - Expecting to avoid IL stint Twins manager Derek Shelton suggested that Buxton (hip) is likely to avoid the injured list and return to the lineup soon after the outfielder worked out on the field prior to the...
Impact Buxton hasn't played since Wednesday while he contends with right hip flexor soreness, but he appears to be confident that he'll return to the lineup in a matter of days. The outfielder will presumably go through another pregame workout Monday, after which the Twins will decide if he's fit to return to the lineup for the series opener versus the Astros. While Buxton has been on the bench the past four games, Ryan Kreidler and James Outman have shared center field, and right fielder Austin Martin has been elevated to the leadoff spot.

MLB 2026 Buzz: Astros Place 2B Jose Altuve On IL With Grade 2 Oblique Strain
Ryan Jeffers - Pops seventh homer Jeffers went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Brewers.
Impact Jeffers put the Twins ahead 4-3 in the fifth inning with his solo shot. The catcher hasn't been quite as dominant at the plate in May as he was in April, but he's still batting .275 (11-for-40) with three homers, six RBI and an 8:6 BB:K over 12 contests this month. Overall, he's hitting .294 with a .948 OPS, seven homers, 26 RBI, 25 runs scored, one stolen base, six doubles and a triple through 36 games.
15 HOURS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Luis García - Snags save Sunday Garcia allowed a run on two hits and a walk and struck out one over one inning to earn the save in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Brewers.
Impact Garcia made things interesting, but he was able to maintain a lead. He's picked up two saves and a hold over his last four outings, though he's allowed two runs on five hits and two walks in that span as well. That usage suggests he's in the mix for ancillary save chances -- that was the case Sunday, as Justin Topa worked a high-leverage spot in the eighth inning while Eric Orze was presumably unavailable after a 26-pitch outing Saturday. Through 15 innings this season, Garcia has a 9.00 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 6:6 K:BB over 15 appearances. He's on his seventh team in the last four years, having joined the Twins in April after he was released by the Mets.
15 HOURS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Bailey Ober - Secures fifth win Ober (5-2) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out one over five innings to earn the win over the Brewers on Sunday.
Impact Ober wasn't nearly as dominant as in his last start, which was a complete-game shutout versus the Marlins on Tuesday. He threw 46 of 77 pitches for strikes and was tagged for home runs by Garrett Mitchell and Christian Yelich, accounting for two of the three runs on the right-hander's line. Ober has allowed two runs or fewer in four of his last six outings, but it's fair that he wasn't quite as sharp against a tough opponent. He's at a 3.63 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 40:17 K:BB through 57 innings over 10 starts this season. Ober's next start is projected to be on the road in Boston.

Josh Bell - On bench to begin Sunday Bell isn't in the Twins' starting lineup Sunday against Milwaukee.
Impact Bell had started Minnesota's past eight games but went just 6-for-33 with a whopping 17 strikeouts (and no walks) during that stretch. He'll get at least a partial day off Sunday while Ryan Jeffers gets a day off his feet as the Twins' DH.
22 HOURS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Byron Buxton - Held out again Sunday Buxton (hip) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.
Impact It's the fourth straight contest on the bench for Buxton as he continues to manage a hip injury. It's not clear how seriously the Twins have considered placing the outfielder on the injured list, but that possibility grows more likely with each additional game missed. Ryan Kreidler is manning center field Sunday for Minnesota.
