ASHLAND, Ohio (AP) Defending NCAA Division II champion Ashland won its 57th straight game with a 111-46 victory over Tiffin on Saturday to tie the longest D-II basketball winning streak regardless of gender.

Top-ranked Ashland tied the record set by the Winona State men from Jan. 13, 2006-March 22, 2007. The Eagles play at Wayne State (14-4, 9-3) on Thursday for a chance at the all-time mark.

Ashland broke the women's basketball record with its 52nd consecutive win on Jan. 6, surpassing Washburn University (Topeka, Kansas) in 2005-06.

Senior Andi Daugherty scored a season-high 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting against Tiffin to become the third player in program history to score at least 1,750 career points (1,758).
