UFC 175 Weidman vs. Machida weigh-in results & replay
LAS VEGAS -- After ending the Anderson Silva era, Chris Weidman looks to continue to establish his own reign at UFC 175. Standing in his way is another Brazilian, Silva's close friend Lyoto Machida.
Machida, a former UFC light-heavyweight champion, attempts to become only the third man in history to win UFC titles in multiple weight classes, following Randy Couture and B.J. Penn.
Weidman is a slight favorite in the matchup, which takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
On Friday at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, both champion and challenger comfortably made weight, making their Saturday night headliner official.
Machida checked in at 184.5 while Weidman tipped the scales at the championship limit of 185.
Saying he respected Machida's record of achievement, Weidman promised he wasn't about to offer Machida the start of another reign.
"He's had the belt before, so he's a very dangerous opponent," he said. "He wants the belt back, but I'm not giving it back."
Both Rousey and Davis hit the 135-pound mark on the scale.
