Ryan Bader vs. Rafael 'Feijao' Cavalcante set for UFC 174
In the past few weeks, Ryan Bader and Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante have been linked to potential bouts with varying opponents. In the end, they'll face each other.
The two hard-hitting light-heavyweights have agreed to face off at UFC 174, UFC officials confirmed to FOX Sports on Wednesday. The Canadian Press first reported the two had verbally agreed to the match, which has been in the works for several weeks.
Bader is the higher-ranked of the two, currently sitting at No. 9. The 30-year-old former collegiate All-American wrestler has won two of his last three, including a three-round drubbing of Anthony Perosh in his last fight. Bader is 16-4 overall.
Meanwhile, Cavalcante won his first fight in over two years during a UFC Fight Night event last November. In that fight, he defeated Igor Pokrajac in a first-round submission due to strikes. In his career, he's 12-4 with 1 no contest, and he's currently ranked 12th in the division.
UFC 174 takes place in Vancouver's Rogers Arena on June 14. The event is headlined by a flyweight title fight pitting champion Demetrious Johnson against Ali Bagautinov.
