Phil Davis vs. Ryan Bader official for UFC Fight Night on FOX in Sweden
Two of the top 10 light heavyweights in the world will square off in Sweden as Phil Davis has agreed to meet Ryan Bader at the upcoming UFC Fight Night on FOX card headlined by Alexander Gustafsson vs. Anthony Johnson.
UFC officials announced the new bout early Friday morning.
Davis (13-2, 1 NC) returns to the Octagon following one of his most dominant performances as he beat former title contender Glover Teixeira at UFC 179 in Brazil. The win moved Davis to 4-1 in his last five fights and back into the top five of the 205-pound division.
It's a spot Ryan Bader (18-4) covets and would definitely like to take from Davis in January.
The former Ultimate Fighter winner has been on a tear of late, winning his last three fights in a row including victories over former Strikeforce champion Rafael 'Feijao' Cavalcante and Ovince Saint Preux.
Bader has been knocking at the door of the top five in the light heavyweight division before and now he'll have his chance to kick it in when he faces Davis in Sweden.
Davis vs. Bader is the latest addition to an already stacked card taking place on Jan. 24 from Stockholm. Stay tuned for more details as the card continues to add fights in the coming weeks.
