Dana White hopes to repair burnt bridges between Myles Jury and Reebok

Published May. 6, 2015 6:00 p.m. ET

Top 10 ranked lightweight Myles Jury expressed his opinion about Reebok, UFC's new uniform sponsor, a few days ago with very heated message released on Twitter.

While he never mentioned Reebok by name, Jury's response was clear when he showed a pair of shoes made by the clothing company in the trash while accompanying the picture by calling them trash as well.

It appears the source of the problem Jury has with Reebok stems from an endorsement deal he was working on with the company before the UFC came on board for their new uniform policy.

"First and foremost, what happened with Myles Jury it happened. Before we did the deal with Reebok, he was talking to Reebok," UFC president Dana White revealed on Wednesday. "This happened and we're going to make it right. We've got to fix it."

FOX Sports spoke to Jury's manager Ryan Hass of EVO Agents who said that they have been advised by their attorney David Nelmark to avoid any public statements on the matter at this time. While Jury's manager couldn't say anything about the situation with Reebok, it may appear to be a legal matter before it's all said and done.

Jury hasn't spoken about his falling out with Reebok since releasing the picture last week, but his message on social media was pretty clear.

White admits that Jury's public bashing of Reebok isn't a good thing, especially under the terms of the new deal the UFC just signed with the company as the primary apparel sponsor for the next five and a half years.

That said, White hopes he can intervene and make things right between Jury and Reebok before things get too far out of hand.

"He can't go out trashing Reebok, but he did have a personal falling out with them," White said. "It did happen and I'm going to have to manage it and fix it."
