Car that Ronda Rousey once lived in sold on eBay for $21K

The 2005 Honda Accord Ronda Rousey used to live in as she struggled before making it big in MMA sold on eBay for $21,300, well beyond original estimates that the car would net between $4,000 and $5,000, TMZ reports.
The auction was a team effort between Rousey and her sponsor Armbar Nation. The listing on eBay read in part:
There are many of Ronda’s personal belongings inside the car including medals, UFC programs from past events, patches, hats, and all kinds of random Ronda items. You can see from the eBay photos what all the items are that are located in the car. We (Ronda’s family) like to joke about all of the cool things you find in Ronda’s car. Every time you open the door, it’s is like an archeological dig! Also, Ronda did glue a few medals, patches, coins, and figurines to the inside of her car which probably aren’t going to come off.
As noted above, the unidentified buyer of the unique piece of memorabilia related to the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion’s early career not only landed the car, but its contents, which include a mishmash of Rousey-related items. She also wrote the following message of love to the car, located on the dashboard:
“You were the best noble steed I could ask for,” the note reads. “You never broke down, you hung in there when I couldn’t afford to change your oil. I could always depend on you. I love you, enjoy retirement.”
Rousey admitted to TMZ she will miss the car, which she nicknamed “The Fonda,” even though it is now a broken-down, beat-up jalopy with 156,000 miles on it and a busted transmission.
“I’ll miss the worn in feeling you get from like a favorite pair of jeans or shoes you’ve had for years that molded to you perfectly,” she said.
Rousey did express some reservations about the kind of person who would plunk down a substantial chunk of change to buy her old car.
“The Fonda will always have a special place in my heart,” she said, according to TMZ. “I love it very much and hope that the next owner will be someone who will love and respect it."
Rousey went on to say she has some misgivings about the car's new owner, saying she's worried a "crazy super fan" will buy it and perform lewd acts in it.
Fair enough. Let’s hope Rousey’s wishes are respected by the clunker’s new owner.
