Chicharito has shaved his head because he lost a Super Bowl bet when the Patriots won

The next time you see Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez on the pitch for Bayern Leverkusen, he's going to be sporting a very new look. And it's because he lost a bet.

The Mexican striker made a bet with a Mexican journalist that the Atlanta Falcons would win Super Bowl LI and, well, that didn't happen. The New England Patriots won so now it is time for Chicharito to pay up.

He revealed his new look on social media Monday night:

"Well, here I am – sticking to my word, paying up," Chicharito says in the video for journalist Sergio Dipp. "It was like you said, Tom Brady is the best ever and I was too confident in the Atlanta Falcons. But oh well, it is what it is, so here I am paying up."

Chicharito looks slightly embarrassed about losing. The Falcons winning did seem like a sure thing for most of the Super Bowl until the Patriots completed the greatest comeback in history.

But hey, it'll grow back, Chicharito. It's not like you bet $1.1 million on the Falcons winning, at least.
