Chad Ochocinco still thinks he can play in MLS

Remember that time Chad Ochocinco --€“ sorry, Chad Johnson --€“ had a tryout with Sporting Kansas City?

That was back in March of 2011, when the NFL's brief lockout gave the soccer-crazed Johnson an opportunity to stay in shape and maybe even spring a surprise by landing a contract with the MLS team.

It didn't exactly work out.

Johnson, 33 and still "Ochocinco" at the time, may have been the tallest and perhaps even the fastest player on the pitch, but that was about it in terms of positives. His ball skills were, um, not quite up to par:

Five years later, the former NFL wide receiver apparently thinks it's not time to "kiss the baby" just yet. (In Ocho slang, you may remember, that means "it's over"). Johnson joined the Dan Le Batard Show on Wednesday, where he claimed he could revive his soccer career given a second chance:

"You know what, if I was able to get that trial with Sporting KC now, I would make the team," Johnson said. "My touch and my skill has come back. I hadn't played football in the past five years and I've been playing back on the pitch the past five years."

I know what you're thinking. Child, please!

We, however, are rooting for you, Chad. Though we don't know where Sporting KC could use a 38-year-old, awkwardly tall hobby footballer, it sure as heck would be entertaining.
