WATCH: KidKaster gets Christmas surprise
When Tina Lyons learned about a week before Christmas that her 11-year-old son, Kelton, was chosen to be the Sanderson Ford KidKaster for the Jan. 9 Coyotes-Predators game, she had one of those epiphanies that are common to all good mothers.
Wrap up the surprise and put it under the Christmas tree in their Scottsdale home for Kelton to open.
So she did -- with a little bit of conspiratorial assistance from FOX Sports Arizona's Brittany Norton -- and captured it on camera, which you can see here.
Kelton, his 9-year-old brother Kyler and father Rick are all hockey players, and Tina says they try to go to about a half-dozen Coyotes' games a year. Kelton's love for the game dates back to early childhood -- "When he was about 2, he used to watch 'Miracle' every day," Tina recalled -- so we can't imagine a better kid for the assignment.
Tune in to FOX Sports Arizona at 6:30 Saturday to share in Kelton's moment as he gets a chance to interview a Coyotes player and join Matt McConnell and Tyson Nash in the FOX Sports Arizona broadcast booth. And click here if you'd like more information on how to audition to become a Kidkaster.
