Rangers' Fielder to compete in Home Run Derby

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 11:03 a.m. ET

Texas Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder, the club's lone representative for next week's All-Star Game, has been selected to compete in the Home Run Derby.

Fielder will be the No. 7 seed at Monday's event in Cincinnati. He'll face No. 2 see Todd Frazier, the third baseman for the Reds. The seedings were based on the home run totals for the players this season.

Fielder has won the derby title twice, beating then Texas Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz in 2009 and then winning it again in 2012.
