There have been multiple conflicting reports surrounding the assault case involving Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde. The victim claims that Hyde struck her in the face at a Columbus bar. However, multiple news outlets have reported that surveillance footage clears him of the alleged act.
Yahoo! Sports reported that a source who claimed to see the surveillance footage said 'it does not appear that Hyde ever struck the alleged victim.' NBC4 reporter Mindy Drayer, who also claims to have viewed the video footage, says Hyde clearly made contact.
Columbus police say that a lot of misinformation is being 'thrown around.'
"It's been reckless up to this point," Columbus Police Sgt. Rich Weiner, who serves as the public information officer, told 610 WTVN. "Everybody seems to have a source and they're going with it. They think that whatever their source is telling them is gospel. Be careful because the investigation is ongoing."
