The roster includes baseball Hall of Famers Andre Dawson, Rollie Fingers, Rickey Henderson and Ozzie Smith, as well as icons like Dwight Gooden, Fred Lynn, Mike Piazza and John Smoltz. Former Twins Jack Morris and Jim Thome will participate, and Minneapolis will further be represented by Twin Cities sports stars Adrian Peterson of the Vikings, Zach Parise of the Wild and Maya Moore of the Lynx.
Rapper Nelly, actor/comedian Rob Riggle and TV personality Andy Cohen will be on hand to lend some national renown to the game, which will take place on the Sunday of All-Star Weekend following the Futures Game. Also among the Hollywood contingent, comedian Chris Distefano, TV personalities Melanie Iglesias and Sway, as well as hip hop star Fat Joe, are expected to play.
Olympic softball gold medalist Jennie Finch will feel right at home on the diamond, and Minneapolis native Larry Fitzgerald, a receiver with the Arizona Cardinals, should be able to show off his cross-sport talent. Minnesota residents and TV personalities Andrew Zimmern and James Denton also will participate.
