Pacers recall Shayne Whittington from Mad Ants

The Indiana Pacers announced Monday they have recalled center Shayne Whittington from their affiliate in the NBA's Development League, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

The move could point toward starting center Ian Mahinmi's availability in the near future. A sprained ankle has sidelined Mahinmi the last two games.

Whittington has played in two games for the Pacers this season. The 6-foot-11, 250-pound forward/center is averaging 11.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game in 19 games with the Mad Ants.
