NFL Quick Hits: Romo expected to return Sunday

Published Nov. 17, 2015 5:48 a.m. ET

After eight long, dark weeks in Cowboyland, QB Tony Romo (broken collarbone) is expected to return to action this Sunday in Miami. Romo will face a Dolphins' pass defense that ranks 20th in the league with 254.7 passing yards allowed per game, 23rd in QB rating allowed (96.3), and 23rd in fantasy points per game allowed to opposing quarterbacks (17.8). It's certainly possible that Romo will be rusty after his layoff, but his fantasy owners should start him in most cases this week.

In other news ...

Patriots WR Julian Edelman (broken foot) might be able to return for the regular-season finale, but that doesn't help your fantasy squad. Cut him, and see if you can pick up Danny Amendola, who is owned in 18.5 percent of FOXSports.com leagues.

Brock Osweiler will start in place of Peyton Manning (foot, ribs, ineffectiveness) at Chicago. Osweiler played respectably in relief of Manning against the Chiefs, but I'd be tempted to stream the Bears' defense against him, especially considering that John Fox and his staff are very familiar with Osweiler. Also, the Broncos will probably run quite a bit.

Reminders: The Browns, Saints, Giants and Steelers are off in Week 11, while Thursday's game is Titans-Jaguars.

Eagles coach Chip Kelly didn't shed much light on Sam Bradford's injuries (sprained left shoulder, concussion) on Monday, but the smart money is on Mark Sanchez to start against the Bucs. Sanchez is an interesting streaming option for those without Brees/Big Ben/Eli, and is priced at the minimum $5K on DraftKings.

The Rams benched Nick Foles? Now THAT makes sense. Case Keenum gets the coveted role of handing off 30 times to Todd Gurley on Sunday.

Jaguars WR Allen Hurns saw a specialist on Monday to check on his abdominal injury. Speculation has ranged from Hurns playing this Thursday to missing 4-6 weeks. We should know more later on Tuesday.

The top-scoring PPR running backs in Week 10 were Jeremy Langford and Charcandrick West. Just like we all expected.

Cardinals WR Michael Floyd is day-to-day with the hamstring injury that forced him to leave Sunday night's game.

49ers RB Carlos Hyde (foot) and WR Anquan Boldin (hamstring) are considered questionable for Sunday's game at Seattle. Who's ready to roll with Shaun Draughn? Anyone? Hellooooo?

Texans QB Brian Hoyer suffered a concussion in Monday night's win over the Bengals, but his status is TBD.

Giants WR Victor Cruz (calf) is done for the season. You weren't still holding him, right?

Early DraftKings observations: Derek Carr looks pretty good at $6,300, but if you want to save even more, Alex Smith and Mark Sanchez are both $5K ... The pricing algorithm must have been hacked to put Chiefs RB Charcandrick West at $4,500 vs. the Chargers. He's the most obvious play of the week ... If Amendola steps in in place of Edelman as expected, he'll offer value at $4K ... This week's "play all tight ends against the Raiders" entrant is Detroit's Eric Ebron ($3,500) ... I won't argue if you want to pay up for the Seahawks DST ($4,000), or even the Panthers ($3,400). But the Bears are a paltry $2K against Osweiler and the Broncos. In tournaments, the Seahawks will be very popular, making the Bears an interesting contrarian option.

See you back here Friday morning.
