Magic's Kyle O'Quinn fined $15,000 for Flagrant 2 foul
Orlando Magic forward Kyle O'Quinn has been fined $15,000 by the NBA for what was called "excessive contact above the shoulders" with Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin during Wednesday night's game. Rod Thorn, the NBA's president of basketball operations, made the announcement on Thursday.
O'Quinn was assessed a Flagrant 2 foul and ejected from the game with 5:54 remaining in the second quarter of the Magic's 114-86 loss to the Clippers at Staples Center. He had scored six points on 3-of-3 shooting with a rebound and a steal in 6:37 of playing time before the foul. It marked the second start in as many nights for O'Quinn at center in place of Nikola Vucevic, who was unavailable because of back spasms.
With both of them out, the Magic wound up playing the seldom-used Dewayne Dedmon a total of 25 minutes. O'Quinn had 21 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday night at Golden State in place of Vucevic, whose status for Friday night's game at Utah is unclear. He
