ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -- The Detroit Lions have promoted quarterback Jake Rudock from the practice squad.
Detroit made the move Wednesday, giving the team a third quarterback behind Matthew Stafford and Dan Orlovsky.
Rudock will likely be inactive Thursday when the Lions (6-4) host the Minnesota Vikings (6-4) in a matchup of first-place teams in the NFC North.
Detroit drafted Rudock in the sixth round and the former Michigan and Iowa quarterback has been on its practice squad all season. He was 30 of 51 for 333 yards with four touchdowns in the preseason.
