TAMPA, Fla. -- Forward Alex Killorn has a new deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
He has been re-signed to a two-year contract, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced Thursday. ESPN's Pierre LeBrun was the first to report that the deal is worth $5.1 million.
Killorn, 24, had 17 goals and 41 points in 82 games last season. Durability became one of his greatest assets: He was one of three players, along with defenseman Matthew Carle and center Tyler Johnson, to play in all 82 regular-season games.
A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Killorn has played in 120 career NHL games since making his league debut with the Lightning on Feb. 10, 2013, against the New York Rangers. He has earned 24 goals and 60 points in his Tampa Bay career. The Lightning took him in the third round, 77th overall, in the 2007 NHL Draft.
Killorn was scheduled to become a restricted free agent on July 1.
