LeBron James receives injection for back issue
CLEVELAND (AP) -- LeBron James has received an anti-inflammatory injection to ease discomfort in his back.
This would not prohibit James from playing in Cleveland's final two exhibitions next week. But coach David Blatt said Thursday he may rest the four-time MVP until the regular season. James missed a career-high 13 games last season.
James had a similar anti-inflammatory injection early last season when the Cavaliers star was bothered by both a sore knee and back. He took two weeks off for the injuries, reviving him for the second half of the season. He led Cleveland to the NBA Finals for just the second time.
The Cavs have had injury issues since last season. All-Star guard Kyrie Irving is still sidelined following knee surgery and forward Kevin Love only recently was cleared to practice after shoulder surgery.
