Joe Talamo get 1,500th win, then adds another in Del Mar feature

Joe Talamo notched his 1,500th career victory in the fourth race at Del Mar and then led all the way aboard Demonica to win the $58,000 feature for older fillies and mares by 1-3/4 lengths on Thursday.

The 24-year-old jockey achieved the career milestone on 7-1 longshot Ol' Fashion Girl, who paid $16.80 to win.

In the feature, Demonica ran 1-1/16 miles on the turf in 1:42.51 and paid $6.80, $4.20 and $3.60 for her second win in five career starts.

Frandontjudge returned $12.20 and $7 at 15-1 odds, while Market Quote was another neck back in third and paid $3.60 to show.

Talamo returned Thursday after serving a three-day suspension, which forced him to miss the first three days of the fall meet.
