Gophers receiver catches two footballs while doing backflip

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 12:45 a.m. ET

MINNEAPOLIS -- Gophers wide receiver Logan Hutton had just three catches last season as a redshirt junior. He made nearly that many in a two-second YouTube video -- while doing a backflip.

The short video was filmed last Thursday at Minnesota's practice facility. Fellow wide receiver Michael Conway can be seen throwing both footballs as Hutton does a standing backflip, catching both balls, one in each hand. Sophomore wide receiver EJ Sardinha was behind the camera to capture the trick catch.

While Hutton hasn't had much of a chance to show off his skills on the field for the Gophers -- he has just four total catches in three years -- his leaping ability shouldn't come as much of a surprise. The La Marque, Texas, native was a trampoline champion as a kid.

Minnesota will be searching for targets that quarterback Mitch Leidner can throw to this fall. Perhaps Hutton will be targeted more often. If only Leidner could throw him two passes at once.
