Chiefs rookie Murray gives his brother's engagement to 'Bachelorette' a big thumbs-up

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The most famous new brother-in-law in America gives Andi Dorfman a thumbs-up.

"Hey, I got a new sister-in-law," Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Aaron Murray said today when asked about Dorfman, the Atlanta attorney who picked his older brother, Josh, in Monday night's finale of the reality series "The Bachelorette." "So I'm happy."

"He's very excited," the younger Murray continued. "Very happy."

The Chiefs had Tuesday off. The episode aired Monday night, so today was the first chance reporters had to talk to Aaron -- who, like Josh, played college football at Georgia -- since his big brother's big secret was revealed to the rest of the world.

Although the Murrays themselves have known the final outcome for a while. Aaron said the finale was taped in the spring, and that Josh actually revealed Dorfman's decision to the family during the NFL Draft in early May. The Chiefs wound up selecting Murray in the fifth round that weekend.

"We knew that Friday of the draft (May 9)," the younger Murray said today. "We (got) a call from them like, 'Hey, she picked me, and I proposed, and we're engaged.'

"So that was definitely an exciting weekend. He gets engaged and the next day, I get drafted. So just a lot of excitement going on in the Murray household."

Still, a cynical scribe felt compelled to ask the question: Given the time lag, are they still engaged?

"Yes," Murray replied, loudly, as reporters laughed. "Still engaged. Everything's going well so far."
