Chargers might leave for LA, but first, they'll honor true San Diego legend

The Chargers may have one foot out the door for a potential move to Los Angeles.
But first, they will honor a true San Diego legend.
LaDainian Tomlinson will have his No. 21 jersey retired when he's inducted to the San Diego Chargers Hall of Fame during the 2015 season.
Tomlinson, one of the greatest running backs in NFL history, will be honored on Nov. 22 at Qualcomm Stadium during halftime vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. He's just the fourth player to have his number retired by the franchise, joining Lance Alworth (No. 19), Dan Fouts (No. 14) and Junior Seau (No. 55).
"This is a special, special opportunity for the Chargers family and all Chargers fans," said Chargers Chairman Dean Spanos in a release on Wednesday. "Few players, if any, have meant more to this franchise than LT. He was the heart and soul of this team through one of the most successful decades in our history. I couldn't wait to watch him play every week because I knew I would see something special. And that's what he gave all of us: special memories we'll carry with us forever."

LT, the Chargers' first-round pick in 2001, retired from the NFL in 2012 as the league's fifth all-time leading rusher (13,684 career yards). He also recorded 145 career rushing touchdowns.
Tomlinson set or tied a total of 28 team records during his San Diego tenure (2001-09).
