Brewers trade deadline recap: Additions, subtractions and who is left
The Brewers were major players at this year's Major League Baseball non-waiver trading deadline, making four deals.

With the deadline come and past, here's a look at the additions, subtractions and who is left.
ADDITIONS
Malik Collymore, outfielder
-- 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. Bats right.
-- 10th-round draft pick in 2013.
-- Was drafted as a second baseman/shortstop. He played second in 2013-14, but was moved to left field in 2015.
-- Has played three years in Rookie Ball. With St. Louis' Gulf Coast League team in 2013 and 2014 he hit 228/267/333 then 333/403/480. In 2015 with Johnson City he was batting 216/326/378.
-- Baseball America rankings: No 27 in Cardinals organization after the 2014 season.
Zach Davies, pitcher
-- 6-foot, 150 pounds. Throws right.
-- A 26th-round pick in 2011 but he got the third-highest signing bonus given out by Baltimore that year.
-- Best pitch is changeup
-- In his first year in Triple-A he has 2.84 ERA, 1.224 WHIP and 7.2 K/9.
-- Didn't get called up this year when the Orioles needed a starter. Baltimore instead went with a pair of 25-year-old rookies, Mike Wright and Tyler Wilson.
-- Baseball America rankings: No. 6 Orioles prospect after 2014 (No. 11 in 2013, No. 20 in 2012, No. 31 2011).
-- Played in this year's Futures Game, going 2/3 of an inning with one hit allowed and a strikeout.
Josh Hader, pitcher
-- 6-foot-3, 160 pounds. Throws left.
-- Has a low 90s fastball
-- Has a career 2.97 ERA, 1.196 WHIP and 9.7 K/9 in 83 minor-league games. After struggling in Double-A in a brief time in 2014 as 20-year-old, had a 3.17 ERA, 1.286 WHIP and 9.5 K/9 at Corpus Christi this year.
-- Baseball America rankings: No. 10 prospect for Astros after 2014 season (No. 14 after 2013). Ranked best pitching prospect in California League in 2014.
-- Astros 2014 Minor League Pitcher of the Year
-- Baseball Prospectus wonders if his future is in the bullpen.
Adrian Houser, pitcher
-- 6-foot-4, 230 pounds. Throws right.
-- Fastball sits in low-to-mid 90s but can get it up to 95. Also has a decent curveball.
-- Innings have been limited in minors. High is 108 2/3 in 2014 at Class-A Quad Cities. This season has 83 IP split between Class-A Lancaster (4.35 ERA, 1.369 WHIP, 10.0 K/9) and Double-A Corpus Christi (6.21 ERA, 1.620 WHIP, 6.2 K/9).
-- Baseball America rankings: No. 21 Astros prospect after 2014 season (unranked after 2013 but No. 16 after 2012).
-- Baseball Prospectus calls him a likely backend type starter.
Brett Phillips, outfielder
-- 6-foot, 180 pounds. Bats left, throws right. Turned 22 in May.
-- Broke out in 2014, batting 302/362/521 as a 20-year-old in Class-A Quad Cities and 339/421/560 in 27 games at Class-A Lancaster. This year, he hit 320/379/588 at Lancaster and 321/372/463 in 31 games at Double-A Corpus Christi.
-- Baseball America rankings: Ranked No. 6 in Astros system after 2014 season (No. 30 after 2013). Ranked No. 8 Midwest League prospect in 2014.
-- No. 39 prospect by MLB Pipeline
-- Astros 2014 Minor League Player of the Year
-- Baseball Prospectus: "the addition of Phillips gives them a long-term plan in center field now. . . . Skill-wise he offers a five-tool package highlighted by plus speed and a howitzer of a right arm."
Domingo Santana, outfielder
-- 6-fot-5, 225 pounds. Bats right. Turns 23 on Aug. 5.
-- Yes, Domingo Santana was born in Santo Domingo.
-- Although the Phillies later denied it, Santana reportedly was not supposed to be the player to be named later in a deal which brought Hunter Pence to Philadelphia from Houston. He was not supposed to be included on a list of potential players the Astros could choose from.
-- Batting 320/426/582 at Triple-A this season but with 91 strikeouts in 275 at-bats. Hit 23 home runs in High-A Lancaster in 2012 and 25 homers at Double-A Corpus Christi in 2013.
-- Called up to Astros in 2014, played six games and went 0 for 17 with 14 strikeouts and one walk. In 14 games with Houston in 2015 was 10 for 39, 256/310/462 (OPS+ 111) with 2 home runs, 2 steals, 2 walks and 17 strikeouts.
-- Baseball America rankings: No. 12 in Astros organization after 2014 season (No. 8 after 2013, No. 11 after 2012, No. 6 after 2010). Rated No. 14 prospect in California League in 2012.
-- No. 87 prospect by MLB Pipeline
-- Baseball Prospectus: "If everything clicks, it's not unreasonable to think he could hit 30+ home runs at full maturity. Santana's hit tool makes that a big if, however."
SUBTRACTIONS
Jonathan Broxton
-- Acquired Aug. 31, 2014 from Cincinnati for players to be named later Kevin Shackelford and Barrett Astin.
-- Owed $9 million in 2015. Had a $9 million option in 2016 with a $1 million buyout. By being traded, it becomes a mutual option and the buyout increases by $1 million.
-- In 51 games with the Brewers: 5.55 ERA, 1.319 WHIP, 9.4 K/9, -0.6 WAR
Mike Fiers
-- Taken in 22nd round by the Brewers in the 2009 draft.
-- Turned 30 in June.
-- Owed $512,500 in 2015. Arbitration eligible in 2017. Eligible for free agency in 2020.
-- In 71 games (56 starts) with the Brewers: 21-28, 3.66, 1.238 WHIP, 9.2 K/9, 4.9 WAR.
Carlos Gomez
-- Acquired Nov. 6, 2009 from the Twins for J.J. Hardy
-- Owed $8 million in 2015 (around $2.88M left) and $9 million in 2016 before he hits free agency. With Scott Boras as his agent.
-- With the Brewers: 697 games, 267/325/452, 87 home runs, 152 steals, 19.9 WAR, 2013 Gold Glove, made the 2013 and 2014 All-Star Games.
Gerardo Parra
-- Acquired July 31, 2014 from Arizona for Anthony Banda (Baseball America's No. 17 prospect after 2014 season) and Mitch Haniger (BA No. 22 prospect after 2014 season).
-- Owed $6.237M in 2015. Free agent in 2016.
-- With the Brewers: 146 games, 312/355/482, 12 HR, 13 SB, 1.8 WAR.
Aramis Ramirez
-- Signed as free agent Dec. 13, 2011.
-- Owed $14M in 2015 with mutual option for 2016 ($4 million buyout), but he is expected to retied. Around $5.5 million left in his 2015 salary with the Pirates paying $3 million of it and the Brewers the rest.
-- With the Brewers: 564 games, 284/342/473, 65 HR, 262 RBI, 7.3 WAR.
-- So far with the Pirates: 5 games, 4 for 22, 2 2b, 2 RBI.
REMAINING
Players can still be traded but must pass through waivers unclaimed (or, if claimed, can be dealt to the claiming team).
The Brewers no doubt will try and deal Kyle Lohse and Matt Garza, neither of whom is likely to be claimed. Neal Cotts is another possibility. He isn't owed much and could help bolster a bullpen. It was a surprise that Adam Lind wasn't dealt, but there might not be any teams looking for a first baseman any more.
