Blake Griffin joined JJ Redick on the 'Vertical Pod with JJ'

JJ Redick finally got teammate Blake Griffin on his podcast.

I say finally because Redick himself makes mention that Griffin was originally slated to be the first guest on the podcast, then, as Redick put it during the pod, the "team took a trip to Toronto and things happened."

The conversation that follows is one of the more candid as the teammates don't shy from some of the more sensitive events that happened to Griffin and the Clippers throughout the season. But there is also talk of better times, as Redick delves into Griffin's love of comedy and his recent forays into the stand-up world.

To round out the podcast, Griffin gives his take on the four best comedy specials of all time. And the two round out the episode by talking about some young comedians worth following.

The Clippers are a little over a month away from their first preseason game against the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 4.
