Austin, Ty Dillon take in Taylor Swift concert with special guests

Bridging the gap between the worlds of sports and music, Comcast hosted several NASCAR drivers for a night out at the Taylor Swift concert at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina.
As a part of XFINITY's lead sponsorship of The 1989 World Tour, brothers Austin and Ty Dillon were invited by XFINITY to experience the show with two guests of the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma -- 19-year-old Meredith Cross and 11-year-old Louisa Broughton. The Dillons accompanied the girls all evening for a true VIP experience, including a meet and greet with Swift.
Also in attendance for the concert were XFINITY Series regulars Ryan Reed and Cale Conley, along with Sprint Cup Series driver Matt Kenseth.
Cross and Broughton both experienced traumatic injuries as children, but recovered thanks in large part to the care they received immediately following their injuries.
The Dillon brothers' grandparents -- veteran team owner Richard Childress and wife Judy -- co-founded the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma in 2008 to discover and share ways to prevent and treat severe injuries in children. The Institute, which is based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, funds research, education and advocacy to help improve the care and treatment that injured kids receive across the United States.
Life-threatening injury is the No. 1 killer of children in the United States. Nearly 10,000 children die each year from serious injuries, and many more are treated in the emergency room.
"We're thankful to XFINITY for including us, the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma and Meredith and Louisa for a fun night out," said Austin Dillon, a fulltime Sprint Cup Series driver and the 2013 XFINITY Series champion.
"I'm glad we could be a part of XFINITY bringing two worlds together, with its involvement in NASCAR and The 1989 World Tour, and bring Meredith and Louisa with us."
Younger brother Ty echoed Austin's sentiments.
"Tonight's event was just another showing of how XFINITY has become involved in a big way in the NASCAR family in a short amount of time, and it's great knowing they'll be with us for a long time to come," said the second-year fulltime XFINITY Series driver.
"Thanks to all of the work the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma has done, kids like Meredith and Louisa were given top-notch care and could come with us to this awesome night out with XFINITY."
