Senators recall defenseman Karlsson from minors

Defenseman Erik Karlsson has been recalled by the Ottawa Senators. The 19-year-old Karlsson was recalled from AHL affiliate Binghamton on Friday. Karlsson was Ottawa's first-round draft pick in 2008 and started this season with the club. He was assigned to Binghamton on Oct. 27 and recorded 11 assists in the team's past 12 games. In nine NHL games this season, the Swede had three assists. The Senators sent down Brian Lee. He appeared in Ottawa's past 13 games, recording two goals and an assist.
