Senators' Hoffman suspended 2 games

Ottawa Senators forward Mike Hoffman was suspended for two games without pay by the NHL on Friday for cross-checking San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture.

Hoffman was assessed a major penalty for cross-checking and a game misconduct in the third period of the Senators' 4-3 shootout loss to the Sharks.

The suspension will cost Hoffman $57,639.

The Sharks were at Montreal on Friday night, and will finish the four-game trip Sunday at Chicago.
