Senators defenseman Marc Methot gets $19.6 million, 4-year extension

The Ottawa Senators have signed defenseman Marc Methot to a $19.6 million, four-year contract extension.

Methot will count $4.9 million against the salary cap through the 2018-19 season.

The team said Monday that the deal includes a modified 10-team no-trade list.

Methot has appeared in only 17 games during an injury-plagued season and has five assists.

In 414 NHL games, the Ottawa native has 15 goals and 75 assists.
