Ovechkin, Semin to join Russia at worlds

Alex Ovechkin and Alexander Semin will join the Russian team playing at ice hockey's world championship.

The NHL season ended for the pair Saturday night when the Washington Capitals lost to the New York Rangers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Russia is playing well at the worlds, improving to 6-0 after beating the Czech Republic on Sunday. The tournament is taking place in Sweden and Finland.

This will be the eighth appearance at worlds for Ovechkin and the sixth for Semin.
