Lightning to replace fan's phone after it was smashed by J.T. Brown

To anyone who thinks that heckling is a fruitless endeavor, you are wrong. It got one hockey fan a new phone and a signed jersey.

You may have seen Tampa Bay Lightning forward J.T. Brown swat a phone out of a fan's hands during a game in Nashville earlier this week. Brown, who was on his way to the locker room after receiving a 10-minute misconduct for fighting, wasn't happy that the heckling fan, Brendan Johnson, was filming him as he exited the ice. One quick swat from Brown knocked the iPhone out of Johnson's hands and tumbling to the tunnel floor below, smashing the screen in the process.

Brown called the incident "just a heat-of-the-moment situation" and, thankfully, Johnson didn't seem to take it too personally. The fan said he has no intentions of pressing charges but hoped that the team would replace the phone. The Lightning will indeed fulfill his request, and then some. They'll also send him an autographed Brown jersey for his troubles.

Let this be a lesson to you all. Can't wait for an upgrade to get that new iPhone? Just heckle a hockey player, stick your phone in his face and hope he's angry enough to do you a favor.
