Lightning re-sign forward Killorn to two-year contract after 17-goal season

The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Alex Killorn to a two-year contract, the team announced on Thursday.

Killorn, 24, played in all 82 games for the Lightning last season. He scored 17 goals and earned 41 points to go along with 63 penalty minutes. He earned six points in the first five games of the 2013-14 season, including the overtime winner in Buffalo on Oct. 8.

Killorn, a native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, made his Stanley Cup playoffs debut in 2014, playing in four games. He earned a goal and an assist in Game 1 versus Montreal Canadiens on April 16.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound forward has skated in 120 career NHL games, all with the Lightning, over the past two seasons. He has earned 24 goals and 60 points while posting 77 penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut on Feb. 10, 2013.
