Chara helps Boston beat Belfast Giants

Zdeno Chara had one of Boston's three goals in the second period and the Bruins beat the Belfast Giants 5-1 in an exhibition game Saturday.

Tyler Seguin added two goals for the Bruins, who open the regular season with two games against the Phoenix Coyotes in Prague next weekend.

Seguin tied it at 1 with a power-play goal in the second period. Chara gave the Bruins the lead and Brad Marchand also scored in the second to make it 3-1.

Milan Lucic scored in the third for the Bruins, and Tuukka Rask had 24 saves.

Jade Galbraith scored and Stephen Murphy made 40 stops for the Giants, a group of the top players from the United Kingdom Elite League.
